PALM BAY, Fla. – A weak tornado caused minor damage to a home as well as uprooted a tree in Palm Bay on Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

The NWS reported minor structural damage and vegetative damage in the area of Airoso Road SE and Cherokee Road SE.

According to the NWS, witnesses also shared photos of a small uprooted oak tree as well as damage to a home’s fence, shed and shingles removed from the roof.

“At this time, bases on these reports, and KMLB radar data, a brief EF-0 tornado with peak wind gusts of 65 mph touched in the area,” the NWS said.

Officials said they will work with the Brevard County Emergency Management to gather more information and at this time, a storm survey is not planned.

A tornado warning was not issued for the area when the incident happened.
