RCSO to meet with downtown business owners on new safety plan

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The 2025 Arts in the Heart of Augusta festival is set for Sept. 19-21, and several street closures are planned for the event.

The following street closure plan will be implemented for the 2025 Arts In The Heart Festival:

  • Sept. 17 10 p.m.:
    • 8th & Broad Street
    • 7th & Reynolds
    • 9th and Jones
    • McCarten & Reynolds east to 8th & Reynolds
  • Sept. 18:  The following pedestrian paths will be blocked:
    • On the levy at the western edge of the Festival boundary ( e.g. northeastern edge of the Mariott Hotel)
    • On the river path at the west side of the Riverwalk Amphitheater
    • On the levy at the eastern edge of the Festival boundary
    • On the river path at the eastern edge of the Festival boundary

These closures will remain in place until after the festival ends and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deems the areas to be safe for traffic.

The festival ends at 7 p.m. on Sept. 21.
