Jennifer Lopez has divided opinion after showing off her toned midriff while on a shopping trip with Ben Affleck’s 13-year-old son, Samuel.

During the weekend, the singer was spotted out with Samuel on an extravagant shopping excursion in Beverly Hills, demonstrating her continued dedication as a stepmother to her ex’s children.

But despite the jovial outing, some social media couldn’t move past Jennifer’s outfit, which they branded ‘inappropriate’ and ’embarrassing.’

Captured by paparazzi, the 56-year-old actress showcased her toned midriff in a long-sleeved, white cropped top and low-waisted black pants.

She also carried a Dior tote bag in her hand and slipped into a pair of nude-colored heels.

However, the outfit did not win over many people online, who were quick to criticize her appearance in a series of photos from the outing posted on an Instagram fan page.

Taking to the comments, one said: ‘How inappropriate to wear that top! Does she not get it?’

‘Why does she dress like that with her kids?’ another asked.

A third slammed: ‘Showing her body to a preteen is inappropriate.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another begged: ‘Please don’t wear that with a young kid.’

A fifth continued: ‘Wear some clothes. This is ridiculous.’

‘Nice outfit to take kids shopping in… how embarrassing for the kids,’ added a sixth.

‘He looks so uncomfortable,’ another added. 

But others weren’t offended by Jennifer’s outfit and instead praised her impressive physique.

‘She lives in California,’ one said. ‘That’s the look there and she’s got the body so flaunt it.’

Another wrote: ‘Dear Lord, this woman looks amazing!’

Jennifer was married to Samuel’s father, Ben Affleck, from 2022 until their divorce was finalized in January this year 

Besides being a step mom to Ben’s kids, she is mom to twins Emme and Max, who are both 17  

‘JLO THAT BODY,’ continued a third. 

‘She looks beautiful!’ wrote another. ‘Very sad when women trashy another. This is not about her, it is about spending time with her loved ones!’

A fifth continued: ‘I’m not even a huge fan of her but she looks amazing actually this outfit is so cute.’

Jennifer and Samuel were seen strolling through an indoor shopping area before stopping by one of the luxurious stores.

The pair later made their way to an awaiting vehicle as the teen held a large Balenciaga shopping bag in his hand.

Jennifer was previously married to Samuel’s father, Ben Affleck, from 2022 until their divorce was finalized in January this year.

Upon tying the knot, the performer had become stepmom to his kids Samuel, Fin, 16, and Violet, 19 – whom he shares with ex Jennifer Garner.

Despite their split, it appears that Jennifer – who is also mom to twins Emme and Max, 17 – still maintains a close bond with Ben’s children.

Earlier this year in April, Ben opened up about his ex-wife’s ongoing relationship with his kids following their split.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said: ‘For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them.’

Ben also had sweet words for Lopez’s twins and further expressed: ‘I love her kids. They are wonderful. She is enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity whom I adore and am grateful to.’
