Joe Rogan found himself in a dispute with his producer when he claimed that a fabricated, AI-created video showing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz dancing in a ‘F*** Trump’ shirt was ‘completely genuine.’
The podcaster was speaking with comedian Tom Dillon on his show September 5, when he brought up the now viral video.
‘It’s quite amusing when someone is in the presidential or vice-presidential race, and after it’s over, they’re seen as a liability and cut off, leading them to act erratically like Tim Walz,’ Rogan remarked.
Rogan then inquired if Dillon had watched the video. Upon hearing Dillon’s negative response, Rogan directed his producer, Jamie Vernon, to locate the ‘bizarre’ footage.
When Vernon then pulls up the video, Dillon asked, ‘Is that really him?’ to which Vernon replies that ‘no, it’s not real.’
But Rogan was adamant.
‘Yes, it’s real,’ he insisted, prompting a back-and-forth between him and his producer before Vernon ultimately told him that it was AI-generated.
The original, unaltered video had been posted August 6 by TikTok user @RoggenRoland showing him descending an escalator while singing along to ‘Don’t Cha’ by The Pussycat Dolls, AFP reports.

Podcaster Joe Rogan got into an argument with his producer as he insisted an AI-generated video of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz dancing while wearing a ‘F*** Trump’ shirt was authentic

Walz’s face had been superimposed over that of a TikTok user in the altered video (pictured)
The same user posted several other videos to the site showing him wear the anti-Trump shirt, which he said he ordered from Amazon in response to another user’s comment.
It now appears that Jebra Faushay, an X user who seems to be the first one to share the Walz video, altered the original – telling others that she ‘swapped the face’ and that the person dancing was not actually the former vice presidential candidate.
Faushay’s account bio also notes that she posts ‘satire.’
Still, Rogan seemed to believe the AI-generated video was authentic.
‘I love it,’ he told his producer on the show. ‘It’s gotta be real. It has to be real.
‘Look at him dancing, that is so real, Jamie,’ Rogan insists. ‘He slaps his ass. Definitely him. This is 100 percent real, Jamie.’
The argument only ended when Rogan was shown a caption stating that the video was, in fact, fake.
‘”Riley Moore fell for an AI-generated video of Minnesota Gov -“‘ Rogan starts reading, referring to a Congressman from West Virginia.
‘I fell for it too,’ the podcaster finally admitted. ‘And do you know why I fell for it? Because I believed that he’s capable of doing something that dumb.
‘He’s so weird,’ Rogan said of the Minnesota governor.
Dillon then agreed that Walz is a ‘weird guy.’
‘He’s in the CCP. He’s controlled by Communist China most likely,’ the comedian asserted, reiterating rumors that plagued former Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign for the Oval Office.

Walz was accused of being compromised by the Chinese Communist Party as he ran for vice president in 2024
As the Daily Mail revealed, Walz had a relationship with a Chinese Communist Party official’s daughter when he was living and teaching in the country in 1989.
He had become romantically involved with Jenna Wang, 59, who told the Daily Mail that the VP hopeful showered her with gifts and seduced her at his poky staff accommodation in the Guangdong Province.
The pair were sexually active, traveled together and frequently went on dates, Wang told the Daily Mail, noting that they hid it all from her father, who was then a high-ranking CCP official.
It was later revealed that the House Oversight Committee had been investigating Tim Walz for his ties to China and CCP entities since August, and after his relationship with Wang was exposed, the committee chairman told the Daily Mail that Walz had been compromised by China.
‘Governor Tim Walz’s documented relationships with Chinese Communist Party affiliated entities and officials bears hallmarks of a CCP infiltration and influence campaign,’ Rep. James Comer said.
‘The Oversight Committee is investigating Governor Walz’s involvement with Chinese entities and officials that may have allowed the CCP to influence his decision-making as a congressman and governor, and potentially would allow the CCP to influence the White House should he be elected vice president.’
The Kentucky Republican then vowed to continue pressing for answers, adding ‘The American people deserve to fully understand Governor Walz’s relationship with China.’
Then-Sen. Marco Rubio also called for answers.
‘If the story today in [Daily Mail] is true Tim Walz had a relationship with the daughter of a high ranking Chinese Communist Party official and remained in contact with her for years after,’ he posted on X.
‘If you aspire to be Vice-President of the United States, voters deserve to know everything about any and every link you have to the CCP.’
