RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. () – Police are looking for a convicted murderer who escaped from a work detail.

Richmond County investigators state that 60-year-old Stacy Huggins didn’t return from work detail on September 4. His work detail site was stated to be 4337 Wilson Road in Hephzibah.

Investigators say Huggins left his work site on foot in an unknown direction.

Huggins was housed at the Augusta Transitional Center (TC). Once at the facility, the residents live in a structured setting while they are also provided counseling and assistance in finding and maintaining outside employment to assist with their reentry into society.

Huggins entered into the Georgia Department of Corrections in 1990 on a life sentence for murder in Fulton County, Georgia.
