Watch: Nancy Pelosi Gets Flustered With CNN When Asked About New Trump Remarks on Insider Trading

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appeared to defend the violent rhetoric on the left after the founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated and said her party “cannot take responsibility for the minds that are out there.”

As RedState reported, on Friday, authorities announced that Kirk’s suspected killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah, was in custody, after Kirk was killed while speaking to college students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Authorities also revealed that engraved messages on the bullets and unspent bullet casings they had recovered read: “Hey, Fascist!” “Catch!” and “If You Read This, You are Gay, LMAO,” among others, as we wrote.

Speaking at an event in Maryland on Friday, the former Democratic House leader called for an end to gun violence and completely disregarded the often violent rhetoric that comes directly from those in her party, in their comments about President Donald Trump, his supporters, and other Republicans in the public eye.

“People don’t have any intention of saying something that’s going to lead to something dangerous,” Pelosi said. “But we cannot take responsibility for the minds that are out there and how they hear it.”

In short, the Democrat lawmaker is saying there’s no way the left could take responsibility for their rhetoric against Conservatives because they had no idea that it could lead to violence.

At one point, Pelosi said that after Kirk’s murder, “Most of our colleagues put out similar statements of— while we may not agree politically, philosophically, or in any other way, that doesn’t matter. What does matter is that our prayers and thoughts are with the family, and may he rest in peace.”

She also said that “starting from the top,” meaning President Donald Trump, there has to be a more unifying message coming from our government.

The asinine comments Pelosi made echoed the sentiments that Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX ) made earlier in the day, when she claimed it’s the right that needs to tone down the rhetoric, not those like her on the left.

During Crockett’s appearance on Friday on “The Breakfast Club” podcast, the host asked how Crockett was doing, and she immediately turned the focus on herself. Of course she did.

Crockett said Democrats are “denouncing political violence” after the assassination happened, but admitted she’s not convinced that’s what it was, suggesting it was maybe personal, before appearing to blame those on the right.

“Even if [this person] came from our side of the aisle, let’s assume the worst… let’s talk about it,” Crockett said. “So, we’ve got to talk about what it means when you are running for president or you are running for one of these higher offices…and you go out there and say things like ‘I could shoot somebody in the middle of the street in New York and I could still win.”

She claimed in one breath that she had never advocated for anyone to commit violence against those on the right, then suggested it’s fine to call someone a “wanna-be-Hitler.” “All those things are are not necessarily saying go out and hurt somebody.”

Crockett said she can say Trump is “operating as a dictator. That doesn’t mean that I want somebody to go out and hurt the President of the United States.”

As RedState reported, Kirk was murdered while doing what he loves, just talking to college kids about his faith and Conservative views, when an assassin killed him in Utah on Wednesday.
