A South-East Queensland family has been left feeling unsafe all over again, months after being confronted by an alleged armed intruder.

After moving house, to escape the trauma, their new home was broken into this morning and ransacked while they slept.

It wasn’t even a year ago the young family fell victim to a terrifying alleged South Ripley home invasion.

“They came in and held a gun to my head in front of my 9-year-old son,” the female occupant, who didn’t want to be identified, told 9News.

“It’s totally shaken up our lives.”

They were left so shaken, they had just move more than 30 kilometres away, to Drewvale.

But after only a month in their new home, they’re already replacing doors and locks.

“We thought we were better off here but it looks like it happens anywhere,” a man, who didn’t want to be identified, told 9News.

The woman added that it felt “like nowhere is safe”.

CCTV captured a group of offenders moving in and out of their garage and backyard, early this morning.

Keys were taken while the family slept, along with handbags and a wallet which was on a bench right next to where one resident says he was sleeping on the couch.

One offender was later seen returning to the street for a motorbike, they’d been unable to get started.

“It’s such a brazen, disgusting act,” the woman said.

The couple’s children are so shaken by the violation, they’ve now gone to stay with their grandparents.

“My son actually has PTSD,” the woman claimed.

“It’s just sad because he was just starting to feel better. It breaks my heart, it absolutely breaks my heart.”

The same car was spotted on other nearby home security cameras, where residents believe the same group of offenders were behind a number of attempted break-ins but police say there’s nothing to indicate it’s linked to any other incidents.

“We won’t be sleeping tonight because we’ll be afraid they’re gonna come back,” the woman said.

“All you want is for your child to feel safe.”

Investigations are underway.
