An Adelaide man who was due in court over a massage parlour siege has been arrested after a separate stand-off at a city strip club.

9News has obtained exclusive vision from the city venue, where the accused allegedly smashed a door, hurled a brick at a police car and refused to get down from a roof.

Police were called to the venue, Pole Position on Pirie Street, at approximately 6pm last night, with up to 15 officers responding.

“He put up a hell of a fight, I reckon there were about five policemen in the rear of the building here before they held him down,” one witness said.

The 43-year-old man, identified as Peter Towsti, is accused of causing extensive damage to the property, which had its beer garden trashed, with glass bottles scattered throughout the area and a rear door smashed.

Witnesses say they saw Towsti throwing bricks and bottles from the roof.

“There was a lot of glass here and bricks and kegs that he was throwing over the fence,” a bystander said.

Towsti was due to appear in court today on charges related to an incident in July, where he allegedly barricaded himself inside a Hindley Street massage parlour, resulting in a nearly two-hour siege.

Following that incident, he was arrested and granted police bail.

Towsti didn’t appear in court for his hearing this afternoon, with the magistrate told that was because he’s currently being assessed in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital

His lawyer has indicated a possible application for release on bail in the coming days.

The matter is scheduled to return to court in a month.
