September is Hunger Action Month— Feed America’s nationwide effort to raise awareness about food insecurity across the country and inspire action.
Mary Jane Crouch is the Executive Director of Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia — an agency that serves as a safety net for tens of thousands of people at risk for hunger across our area.
She sat down with ‘s Kim Gusby to talk about the agency’s goal of ensuring families facing hunger have the resources they need.

According to Second Harvest, there are more than 44 million people in the United States who struggle with food insecurity, 1.4 million in the state of Georgia, and 131,820 right here in Coastal Georgia.
In 2024, Second Harvest distributed more than 25 million pounds of food across 21 counties. Make a donation HERE.
