The pair arrested for placing a bomb under a vehicle were trying to blow up a local Fox News van, according to the outlet.

Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, were taken into custody in Salt Lake City on Sunday, according to a probable cause statement reviewed by FOX13.

Bomb squads with the Salt Lake City Police Department and officials with the Unified Fire Authority responded to reports of a suspicious device on Friday.

They soon discovered an incendiary device was placed under a vehicle, near an occupied building, per the records.

Luckily, the device has been lit but ‘failed to function,’ officials said.

Authorities, including the FBI, then secured a warrant for a home in Magna that Adeeb owns. Both of the men lived at the address, according to a probable cause statement.

Footage of the property, taken by the targeted outlet, showed two anti-Trump flags on the lawn – ‘Let’s go taco’ and ‘Is he dead yet?’

‘Let’s go taco’ stems from a political meme that uses the acronym TACO, which stands for ‘Trump Always Chickens Out.’

‘Is he dead yet?’ refers to the President as well.

‘No trespassing’ and ‘DANGER Quarantine Area’ signs were also posted in front of the home.

The relationship between the two men remains unclear.

When contacted by Daily Mail, a spokesperson for FOX13 confirmed the frightening incident.

‘We can confirm that local and federal authorities are investigating an incendiary device found under a FOX 13 News vehicle on Friday, and that two men have been arrested in connection to this incident,’ they said.

‘We are working closely with law enforcement and our risk management team, with the safety of our employees our top priority. We do not have information from law enforcement about motive.

‘Given this is an ongoing investigation, this is the information we have available to share at this time. We thank local and federal law enforcement for their swift efforts and ongoing investigation.’

Adeeb and Adil were both found in the home, along with two devices that turned out to be spoof weapons of mass destruction.

Initially, the suspects told authorities the devices were real, leading to an immediate evacuation of the property while bomb squads worked to get rid of the devices.

Other surrounding homes were also evacuated because of the scare.

Authorities also found firearms, more explosive devices, illegal narcotics and paraphernalia and ‘explosive-related components’ inside the home, according to records.

Electronic devices believed to contain evidence of the alleged crimes were also found in the home, arrest documents said.

Both suspects have been charged with two counts of weapon of mass destruction – manufacture/possess/sell/use, attempted aggravated arson, four counts of explosive/chemical/incendiary – possessing parts and two counts of threat of terrorism – use of weapon/hoax mass destruction, according to jail records reviewed by Daily Mail.

Adeeb, a US citizen who was born in Pakistan, was booked into Salt Lake County Jail and ordered to be held without bail, records revealed.

It is unclear where Adil, a Utah native, is being held at this time.

Daily Mail contacted the Salt Lake City FBI office, the Unified Fire Authority and Unified Police Department for comment.
