Exclusive: Multiple fashion magazines chasing Kimberly Guilfoyle, sources say

() Pearls are about to be clutched and knickers are soon to be knotted over in the illustrious halls of Condé Nast.

I’m hearing from several sources that three of its top magazines have reached out to Kimberly Guilfoyle, the new U.S. ambassador to Greece, to be on their covers.

”Vogue reached out first, then InStyle and Vanity Fair,” one source said. “They all want (Guilfoyle) for their covers and are promising a big photo shoot and global coverage.”

Vogue declined to comment on the record, but an insider claimed U.S. Vogue has not reached out.

The proposed shoots would take place at the ambassador’s residence in Athens, Greece, and feature Guilfoyle in a variety of glamorous dresses and settings.

The competition is fierce between the Condé Nast-run publications, but they are also facing a proposition from Fortune magazine, which has also expressed interest in having Guilfoyle on its cover.

“Nothing like this has ever happened with a conservative,” a source said. “These magazines usually shy away from Republican women, but in this day and age, they need to not turn away from half the country, no matter what the staff think.”

Indeed, there was a furor last month over at Vanity Fair when it was announced the new editor, Mark Guiducci, had courted the first lady, Melania Trump, for its cover.

The magazine’s new global editorial director tried to woo Mrs. Trump back in July, but when his employees found out, they threatened to quit their jobs.

“’If [Guiducci] puts Melania on the cover, half of the editorial staff will walk out, I guarantee it, ‘” a midlevel editor told the Daily Mail.

“I will walk out the motherf—ing door, and half my staff will follow me … If I have to work bagging groceries at Trader Joe’s, I’ll do it. … It sickens me.”

Melania Trump is said to have laughed at the offer and declined, and so the hunt for a glamorous Republican cover woman turned to Guilfoyle.

And, to be fair, Guilfoyle is a fascinating woman.

The first lady of San Francisco, she was married to (former San Francisco mayor and current California governor) Gavin Newsom from 2001 to 2006.

After their divorce, Guilfoyle moved east, married socialite Eric Villency and became a talking head for Fox News where she got to know the Trump family.

After divorcing Villency in 2009, Guilfoyle eventually left Fox News in 2018 to join America First Policies, a pro-Trump super PAC, to campaign for Republicans in the 2018 midterm elections and grew even closer to the Trump family.

She soon started dating Donald Trump Jr., and the two became engaged in 2020 (although the engagement was only announced in 2022).

Although the Republican power couple broke up in December 2024, Guilfoyle remained close with the family especially President Trump and was nominated as the U.S. ambassador to Greece.

On Thursday, the nomination was approved by the Senate, and Guilfoyle is expected to be ensconced in the Greek ambassador’s residence by the end of October.

In a statement released by the U.S. Embassy in Greece, Guilfoyle said, “I am profoundly grateful to President Donald J. Trump and the United States Senate for their trust and confidence in me.  It is the honor of my life to serve as the first female Ambassador of the United States to the Hellenic Republic.  Greece is the birthplace of democracy, liberty, and the rule of law the very ideals that inspired our American Founders and continue to make America the greatest nation on Earth.  As Ambassador, I look forward to working with our Greek Allies to advance peace, prosperity, and security in the Eastern Mediterranean.  I will be a proud representative of President Trump, a fierce advocate for American interests, and a steadfast friend to Greece and the Greek people.”

”Say what you will about Kimberly, she is a fascinating story,” another source told me. “She knows where all the bodies are buried on both sides of the aisle.”

”It’s a great idea for all those magazines not only to show that they can also feature women other than Democrats on their cover, but here’s the deal about Kimberly: she always lands on her feet. And she is one of the closest people to Donald Trump. She will always make news.”

”The new crew heading the magazines are open to all women in all parties and they need to boost numbers,” my Conde insider said. “Kimberly fits that bill.”

Another name being bandied about is Erika Kirk, Turning Point USA founder and Charlie Kirk’s widow. The former Miss Arizona was just named as the new CEO and Chair of TP USA after her husband, Charlie, was assassinated last week while speaking at Utah Valley University outside of Salt Lake City.

Let’s see how many Condé Nast staffers quit over these two women.

Reps for Condé Nast, InStyle and Vanity Fair didn’t return emails, and Guilfoyle didn’t return calls.
