SAVANNAH, Ga. () — It’s the sixth week of Friday Night Blitz! Here’s a rundown of what happened under the Friday night lights.

The Game of the Week lived up to the hype. Jenkins avenged last year’s overtime loss to Calvary Day, 41-33.

The play of the game happened late in the fourth quarter. After Calvary Day scored to bring their deficit with in five, 35-30, the Cavaliers went for an onside kick with 2:47 remaining.

Initially, Calvary Day appeared to recover the kick and gain possession. However, the officials conferenced and ruled the Cavaliers touched the ball before it went 10 yards. By rule, the officials flagged Calvary Day for illegal touching and gave possession to Jenkins.

Jenkins took advantage of the call and put the game away on a Demetrius Holloway touchdown run.

Out at Savannah Country Day, the Hornets trailed 14-0 in the second quarter, but came back to win. They outscored Tattnall County, 34-7, for the remainder of the contest. The Hornets won the game, 34-21.
