GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Robert Lee Johnson III, 38, was arrested yesterday for nine felonies related to sexual battery of a minor and child pornography.

Johnson has been charged with two counts of sexual battery of a victim under 18, lewd or lascivious battery of a victim under 16, two counts of producing child pornography, two counts of distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography, and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.

Johnson has 11 felony convictions (non-violent) and nine misdemeanor convictions (non-violent) and has served four state prison sentences, with his most recent release in 2018. He currently has a Notice to Appear for driving with a suspended license. Judge Jonathan Ramsey ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.
