AUGUSTA, Ga () – Thousands at Arts in the Heart are ecstatic to learn about new cultures, eat good food and see tons of art.
This festival is celebrating the arts with music, dance, food and much more bringing cultures from across the globe to the CSRA.
I spoke with a group of girls with the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club, one of the girls tells me it was her first time at Arts in the Heart and other say what they are excited to experience once again.
“I’m looking forward to the experience, seeing all different people and different foods,” said Anari Hicks, Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club.
“I like doing the henna and walking around seeing different kinds of art, and different kinds of pieces to buy, just the culture is my favorite part,” said Aodyn Brown, Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club.
Another one of the girls who has attended the festival before says she loves being able to experience new things every year.
“Walking around and seeing the different countries give out their foods, also being able to help the community since we do work with the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club, I think that’s good for us. Some people don’t really get the chance to broaden their taste buds so you definitely get to try new things,” said Jordyn Lowe, Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club.
I spoke with a vendor who attends the festival every year and says he loves being able to share his culture with those here in the CSRA.
“It’s just our way of giving back to the community, and also spreading what or culture is like and our traditions, some of them. Fellowship is important and one of the best ways to do that is to get around food. A lot of times the same people come around so youll see them and also I’m in the military so I get to see a lot of soldiers supporting the community,” Tuono Pule, Samoa tent at Arts in the Heart said.
The festival will continue through Sunday.
