Grieving widow Erika Kirk has revealed she wears the blood-stained pendant of St. Michael that her husband Charlie was wearing when he was shot.
The small icon, stained with blood in the crevice of the cross, was torn from Kirk’s body by paramedics who tried to stop the bleeding after he was shot at a Turning Point USA event in Utah nearly two weeks ago, Erika shared with the New York Times.
Erika, 36, recounted how the sheriff advised against her seeing her husband’s body after the bullet had pierced his neck.

“With all due respect, I want to see what they did to my husband,” she said, recalling how she kissed him goodbye at the hospital.
“His eyes were partly open, and he had this enigmatic, Mona Lisa-like half-smile. It was as if he died content, as if Jesus had saved him. The bullet struck, he gave a blink, and he was in heaven,” she recounted.
The mother of two also offered heartbreaking insights into her life after Kirk’s unexpected death at the hands of a gunman, disclosing that she still couldn’t bring herself to wash the towels her husband used for his final shower.
“To this day, I can’t go into my bedroom. I’m rotating where I sleep,” she said.
