SAVANNAH, Ga. () – It’s shaping up to be another warm and pleasant day, with high temperatures climbing into the upper 80s to lower 90s. A stray shower is possible this afternoon or evening, but most areas will stay dry.
As high pressure builds in tomorrow, we’ll see a brief dip in temperatures just in time for the first official day of fall. Expect a more seasonal feel with highs in the mid to upper 80s and plenty of sunshine.
The warmup returns by mid to late week, with highs likely pushing back into the low 90s. Along with the rising temperatures, rain chances will slowly increase due to an approaching cold front from the west. While the forecast remains mostly quiet for now, we could use the rain, as early signs of drought are beginning to show across parts of the region.
Tropical Storm Gabrielle is still on track to become a hurricane later today. Thankfully, it’s expected to stay well out to sea and pose no threat to land. Behind Gabrielle, another wave of showers and storms is being monitored. While development chances are currently low, that could change later in the week…something to keep an eye on.
