GLENDALE, Ariz. () White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles said the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk not only helped President Donald Trump with his campaign, but that he made the winning difference with getting young voters on board.

“I know he is looking down now, rejoicing because his life, his words, his courage to speak the truth about God, family and country built the most powerful youth movement in our time,” Wiles said.

Trump has long credited Kirk with playing an important role in his 2024 election victory, which saw more Gen Zers vote to re-elect him. Thousands came to his memorial service, which included attendees such as Vice President JD Vance and other Trump administration officials.

Wiles said those who knew Kirk well were lifted by his conviction and his joy.

“For Charlie, making America great again meant bringing young people to this movement, and making sure they knew they belonged,” Wiles said. “President Trump’s victory winning the popular vote and every swing state was powered by young people most brand new to politics. Charlie didn’t just help, he made the winning difference, I promise you that.”

Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at his event at Utah Valley University.

His alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged and faces the death penalty if convicted of the most serious charges.
