The celebration around Cardi B’s pregnancy news has been dimmed by fresh headlines involving her boyfriend, NFL star Stefon Diggs. The 31-year-old has been hit by a paternity suit by model, Lord Gisselle.

Just days after Cardi B shared her big announcement, legal documents revealed that Diggs is in the middle of a paternity dispute with a West Coast model known as Lord Gisselle, whose real name is Aileen Lopera.

Court filings, reviewed by Complex, show Lopera first petitioned the court system back in November 2024 to establish Diggs as the father of her unborn child. She also asked that the wide receiver cover pregnancy and birth-related expenses, along with her legal fees. In addition, Lopera’s petition requested sole custody of her daughter while granting Stefon visitation rights.

The child, listed in documents as Charliee Harper Diggs-Lopera, was born earlier this year. The New England Patriots wide receiver, who is already father to 8-year-old Nova from a prior relationship, responded to the suit in July. While acknowledging the filing, he said he could not confirm whether Charliee was his biological child and requested genetic testing.

If paternity is established, Diggs has made it clear that he wants joint custody as well as shared responsibility for expenses tied to the pregnancy, delivery, and legal process. As of now, it is unknown whether the court-ordered testing has taken place.

The news of the paternity suit broke almost at the same moment Cardi B confirmed that she and Diggs are expecting their first child together. During a sit-down with CBS Mornings host Gayle King, Cardi B explained why she had kept her pregnancy private until recently.

“I just was like, ‘Can I just say it on my own time?’ Like, I’m not hiding,” she said during her interview. “On my time, on my own terms. Let me close some deals first, you know what I’m saying? Let me close some deals first. And it’s like, you don’t really want to say right away that you’re pregnant. It’s like, ‘Let me see a couple of more sonograms. Let my baby be healthy.’”

For now, Diggs’ focus is divided between his NFL career, preparing for fatherhood with Cardi B, and resolving the pending paternity suit. Lord Gisselle’s attorney has not responded to media requests for comment, leaving the timeline uncertain.
