JCPD: 1 injured, man arrested following downtown shooting

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an alleged stabbing on Friday afternoon, the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) reports.

A release from the JCPD said the alleged stabbing was reported at approximately 4:20 p.m. Friday in the area of North Roan Street and Lambeth Drive.

When police arrived on the scene, they located a man with several “severe” lacerations, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The JCPD said witnesses on scene had detained the suspect, whom officers identified as Brittney Corby, 40, of Johnson City.

The release said the JCPD charged Corby with aggravated assault and transported her to the Washington County Detention Center. A bond amount was not provided by the JCPD.

The release said the JCPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.
