Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Gillian Anderson appeared in New York to celebrate TRON Day.

LOS ANGELES — Today is “TRON Day,” the annual September 22 celebration of the groundbreaking franchise, and Disney is giving fans plenty to celebrate.

At The Edge in New York City, director Joachim Ronning joined Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Gillian Anderson to launch the global press tour for “TRON: Ares.”

The next chapter of the saga follows Ares, a powerful program sent into the human world on a dangerous mission that sparks humankind’s first encounter with artificial intelligence.

The signature visual style of the Grid blends with fresh storytelling, where the movie explores what happens when two worlds collide and what it means for the future of both.

A new behind-the-scenes featurette offers a closer look at the artistry of “TRON: Ares.” Director Joachim Rnning shares how important it was to push the TRON universe to the next level visually, including a six-week shoot that shut down parts of Vancouver.

“TRON: Ares” hits theaters on October 10.
