Production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been ‘halted for a week’ after Tom Holland suffered a ‘mild concussion’ on set.

The actor, 29, was reportedly rushed to hospital last Friday after a stunt went horribly wrong at Leavesden Studios in Watford.

Filming of the £150million Marvel movie, which is the star’s fourth Spider-Man film, was suspended when the actor cracked his head after suffering a fall and was treated for a concussion.

A woman, who is believed to be a stunt double, was also reportedly taken to hospital.

It has now been reported that production on the highly anticipated next instalment has been shut down for an entire week.

US website Deadline report that due to the filming pattern of Spider-Man, scenes cannot be filmed around Tom’s absence whilst he recovers.

The publication added that the movie’s original release for July 31 2026 theatrical release date is not currently affected.

Production is expected to resume on September 29.

Daily Mail has contacted Sony Pictures for comment.

It comes after Tom’s dad Dominic attended a charity dinner in Mayfair on Sunday, confirming that his son would be away from filming ‘for a while’.

The actor was also in attendance at the event posing for photos with his co-star and partner Zendaya, 28.

However, it’s believed Tom left the event ‘early’ after feeling unwell.

In a previous statement, the East of England Ambulance Service told The Sun: ‘We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford.

‘An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.’

Tom was seen filming for the first time in Glasgow earlier this summer, transforming the city into New York City for the sequel.

While the final casting of the latest instalment in the Spider-Man franchise has not been confirmed, Tom is believed to be starring alongside Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, 23. Zendaya plays Peter Parker’s girlfriend MJ.

It comes after Tom left fans divided after he unveiled a first glimpse of his updated costume for the upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige previously teased the plot of the new film, telling how Tom will become a ‘proper Spider-Man’.

He said: Feige said: ‘I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories, him being a proper Spider-Man.’

Speaking at a roundtable for The Fantastic Four movie, he continued: ‘Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with – for lack of better terms – street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.

‘So when you do that, you say, okay, who are the other street-level characters that we’ve never seen him interact with? And of course, I love that The Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic.

‘That great cover… I don’t want to say too much, but Destin – I will say too much – Destin is doing an amazing job right now on that movie, which starts shooting very soon.

‘And he’s got eight or nine comic covers up on his wall in his art department that he is bringing to life in this movie, which is super cool.’
