MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – A man’s body was discovered Monday in waters near the State Road 520 bridge in Merritt Island, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene after receiving reports of a body in the water.
Video from the scene showed law enforcement activity under the S.R. 520 bridge.
According to the sheriff’s office, a preliminary examination revealed no immediate signs of trauma on the body. However, investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
