Chelsea Roland was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (two counts), discharge a firearm from a vehicle, reckless driving and more.
YULEE, Fla. — A 27-year-old woman has been arrested for shooting at a car during a “road rage incident” on U.S. 17 in Yulee earlier this month, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.
Chelsea Roland faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (two counts), discharge a firearm from a vehicle, reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance, court records show.
NCSO said on Sept. 11, its 911 communications center received a call from the alleged victims of the incident, who reported that a person had shot at their car at least three times.
NCSO said security cameras on the victims’ vehicle show Roland’s vehicle turn from State Road 200 onto U.S. 17, at which point victims’ vehicle passes in the right lane before the road goes down to one lane.
Video then shows the suspect’s vehicle speed up toward the back of the victims’ car and cross into the southbound lane.
NCSO said the victims told deputies they heard gunshots and saw flashes from what appeared to be a gun being shot.
The sheriff’s office said deputies then caught up with Roland’s vehicle on the I-95 North on-ramp and spoke with her. NCSO said they found a handgun in Roland’s glovebox during this time.
According to NCSO, Roland has a bond of more than $50,000.
