Podcaster Joe Rogan offered his opinion on the recent suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel by ABC in a podcast episode released Tuesday.

“First of all, I definitely don’t think that the government should be involved — ever — in dictating what a comedian can or cannot say in a monologue, that’s f—— crazy,” Rogan said on his “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast.

“Now, if the co— The problem is, the companies, if they’re being pressured by the government, so if that’s real, and if people on the right are like, ‘Yeah, go get them,’ oh my God, you’re crazy. You’re crazy for supporting this, because this will be used on you.”

Kimmel last week sparked a firestorm via comments on the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk that garnered a rebuke from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and his ABC suspension.

Disney said Kimmel will be back Tuesday after pulling him off television last week. The company said in a statement it removed Kimmel from the air “to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for the country.”

A recent The Economist/YouGov poll found that most Americans are opposed to government pressure on broadcasters to remove shows, including those that may contain speech with which they disagree.

FCC Chair Brendan Carr recently accused Democrats of “distortion” when it came to the agency’s part in Kimmel’s suspension.

“The reality is, there’s a lot of Democrats out there that are engaged in a campaign of projection and distortion. And distortion is they’re completely misrepresenting the work of the FCC and what we’ve been doing,” Carr said previously.

The Hill has reached out to Disney, the White House and the FCC for comment.
