Effingham County Health Department to offer free cancer screenings

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. () – The Effingham County Health Department announced that it will be holding an event to connect women with life-saving services and raise awareness of cancer screenings.

The event will take place on October 2nd from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., at the Effingham County Health Department, at 802 US Hwy 119 South in Springfield.

The health department will offer breast exams and cervical cancer screenings at no cost to all women who meet the qualifications through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP). Referrals for a free mammogram will also be provided to attendees.
Free breast cancer screenings are available for women 40 and older without health insurance, and free cervical cancer screenings for women aged 21-64 without health insurance. Free blood pressure and blood glucose screenings will also be available.

Appointments for the event are encouraged but not required. You can schedule an appointment by calling the Effingham County Health Department at 912-754-6484.
