OCALA, Fla. – The driver of a Ford that veered into oncoming traffic in Ocala on Wednesday morning was killed in a resulting crash, according to police.
The crash occurred before 11 a.m. on East Silver Springs Boulevard, just west of NE 25th Avenue, the Ocala Police Department said on social media.
The Ford was traveling eastbound on East Silver Springs Boulevard when it entered oncoming traffic in the 2400 block, striking a westbound Dodge Ram, the post states.
The Ford’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene while the Dodge driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of potential serious injuries, police said.
The roadway was back open as of 3:22 p.m. following the temporary closure of all westbound lanes, according to the post.
No other details were shared or confirmed at the time of this report.
