JASPER COUNTY, SC. () — Hardeeville and Ridgeland Football will matchup up against each other for the first time since their co-op dissolved on Friday, Sept. 26.

After the 2023 season, the co-op between Ridgeland and Hardeeville separated into two teams. The Co-op started in the 2012 season and played every season, except for 2020.

The teams were meant to face off for the first time last season, but Hardeeville was forced to forfeit the contest.

Both teams are excited for the first edition since the split of what could become a great rivalry between both rosters.

“This is it,” said Hardeeville head coach Arthur Gardner. “This is for bragging rights.”

Both head coaches said they look forward to seeing their kids take on their former teammates.

“They both take pride in their school,” said Reginald Jackson, head coach of Ridgeland. “The Hurricanes have pride and we have pride.”

The first game between Ridgeland and Hardeeville since 2012 will be at Ridgeland at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Ridgleland leads the all-time series with Hardeville, 5-1. Hardeeville’s only win came in 2009.
