Catherine Zeta-Jones has built a successful resume as a leading lady with some of her biggest roles to date including The Mask of Zorro (1998), the Oscar-winning performance as Velma Kelly in Chicago (2002), and key roles in high-grossing films like Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and The Terminal (2004). But three decades ago the Welsh actress dabbled in a music career. Fans may recall she performed on the 1992 album Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of Spartacus. She featured in several songs on the Spartacus album, including The Eagle and the Hawk, Destiny, and The Spirit of Destiny. The actress also appeared in the music video for her single, For All Time.
As Catherine celebrates her 56th birthday, Express.co.uk unveils recently unearthed photos from the Welsh beauty’s little known singing career. Although most of her acting roles haven’t required her to showcase her singing abilities, Catherine has had the opportunity to do so in film adaptations of Broadway musicals such as Chicago and Rock of Ages. In a 2022 interview with Parade, she revealed that if she hadn’t pursued a career in acting, she would have chosen to become a musician. She described her dream as “a cross between Carly Simon, Adele, and Alicia Keys, just sitting at the piano and rocking out”.
