Notable singer, Skales opens up on his days of humble beginnings, as he recounts how he used to live in a hut with his family in Kaduna.
He made this known while being featured in a recent interview on the podcast, A TownHall Different Podcast.
Walking down memory lane, Skales revealed that he and his late mother used to live in a hut while in Kaduna.
Things hadn’t been particularly rosy for them, revealing that at the time, the would spread mat on the floor to sleep, until they later moved to a BQ.
Skales recalls his first time owning TV
According to him, coming from a humble background he never had access to a TV, until he was signed by Banky W’s record, EME.
He jokingly noted that he was in awe of the machine, switching on and off the TV in amazement.
His words …
“I’ve been through a lot. I come from Kaduna from a poor family. My mum was a teacher. I used to live in a hut before we moved to like BQ. A proper, we sleep on the floor with mats, and my mom would put wrapper on the floor. So coming from that situation, to becoming who I am right now is crazy men. Sometimes I just look at it and I’m like that’s crazy. I never saw TV. The first time I saw TV was when EME signed me. Like to have my own TV in my room.”
