Man, 18, charged with child abuse material, firearm offences in Sydney

An 18-year-old man will face court on child abuse material and firearm charges after he was arrested in Sydney’s east.

At about 7.45am yesterday, as part of ongoing investigations into child abuse material under Strike Force Glandore, police carried out a search warrant at a home in Matraville.

Officers allegedly found a phone containing child abuse material.

Police also allegedly found two gel blasters, two imitation guns, a slingshot, two rounds of ammunition, and some cannabis.

An 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with multiple child abuse material, firearm, and drug-related offences.

He was refused bail to appear in court today.

Investigations under Strike Force Glandore continue.
