SAVANNAH, Ga — Thursday marked another year of the Savannah Area Chamber’s annual business expo.
The event featured approximately 85 vendors and allowed for attendees to peruse some of the local economy.
“Unless you walk down Broughton, you may not have the chance to do that in such a small area so we’d encourage the public to come visit, come check all these folks out,” Savannah Area Chamber president and CEO Bert Brantley said. “If you’re a business, when do you get 800 people coming by your store every day, you don’t get that chance very often, right…You get a chance to show off.”
Brantley told that the event allows for businesses to gain exposure in the community and is a highlight for him and his team.
“This is where the business happens,” he said. “(This is) Where the magic happens. So, it’s our favorite event of the year. It’s the most fun event.”
The event had businesses that are just starting out to seasoned veterans with the chamber.
Diana Morrison, owner of Ad Specialty, told that her business has been operating for 37 years and Thursday marked her 35th expo appearance.
One of her employees, Tabatha Spencer, spoke about why the business decides to attend the event annually.
“We pick up a lot of business from this expo and it’s nice to support local businesses as well.”
Morrison said the business has no plans to change the trend.
“I will always support our Chamber of Commerce,” she said. “They’ve been very good to me. They’ve helped me grow my business.”
