The mother of troubled singer D4vd has been seen shopping at a Texas pawn and gun store, marking her first public appearance since the dismembered remains of a missing teenage girl were discovered in her son’s deserted Tesla.

Colleen Roberts Burke, 49, appeared in photos exclusively obtained by the Daily Mail, departing Tomball Pawn & Jewelry near Houston on Thursday afternoon, holding an instruction manual for an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

Dressed in black tracksuit bottoms and a grey T-shirt with the words ‘Send Noods’ printed across her chest, the mother of three was captured glaring at her phone as she exited the store. She appeared to be accompanied by a large, bearded man wearing a white T-shirt.

In another shot taken moments later, Burke was seen outside the shop, pacing with a cellphone pressed to her ear as she leaned against a stone pillar, her expression tense, with a hand placed on her hip.

It is not clear what, if anything, she purchased inside the store. She has not responded to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.

The exclusive images mark the first sighting of D4vd’s mother since her son became the focus of a murder probe in Los Angeles following the September 8 discovery of missing teen Celeste Rivas’ remains.

Rivas was just 13 when she was reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, California, in May 2024. Sources close to the girl have alleged to the Daily Mail that she was in an illicit relationship with D4vd – real name David Anthony Burke – after making contact with the star over social media when she was just 11 or 12.

He has not been charged with any crime in relation to her death.

Rivas’ brother, Matthew Rivas, said his family was aware of the alleged relationship. Her family also told TMZ she’d been dating someone called David before she disappeared. Matthew said that on the day his sister vanished, she left home to see a movie with D4vd and never came back.

Both Burke and her 20-year-old son have been radio silent since investigators identified Rivas’s remains. The artist hasn’t been seen in weeks. Neither has returned the Mail’s multiple requests for comment.

Social media has been awash with images purporting to show D4vd and Rivas together during the time the girl was reported missing. However, the LAPD has yet to confirm any concrete connection between the pair.

In previous interviews, D4vd has spoken of how his mother was instrumental in kick-starting his music career.

He was born in Queens, New York, but later moved with his family to Houston, where he was raised and homeschooled in a deeply religious household.

An avid gamer growing up, D4vd would frequently upload video montages of himself playing Fortnite to YouTube. But his videos would routinely be taken down by the platform for musical copyright violations.

Burke encouraged her son to start making his own music for the clips, and he later began recording songs in his younger sister’s closet using apps on his phone.

D4vd began sharing the songs on Soundcloud before his breakout single, Romantic Homicide, went viral on TikTok in 2022.

The song explores themes of heartache, detachment and the death of a relationship.

Some of the lyrics read: ‘In the back of my mind, you died / and I didn’t even cry.’

Since Rivas’s remains were found, fans of the singer, along with internet sleuths, have been speculating about the song’s themes and the dark and violent imagery D4vd often invokes in his music videos.

He previously revealed in an interview on the Zach Sang Show that his mother hated Romantic Homicide because of its violent themes.

‘It was cool. She hated it. I played it for her in the car. She was like, “David, this song is too violent. You’re talking about killing people in your music. No, not my son,”’ he shared.

Public records list Burke’s previous employers as banks and mortgage brokers, though she is also listed as an employee of a number of LLCs, including D4vd Entertainment.

D4vd has at least two younger siblings, and he hasn’t spoken publicly about his father.

D4vd was performing on the US leg of his Withered World Tour when Rivas’s remains were found inside his car.

In a statement at the time, a representative said he’d been informed of the discovery and was ‘fully cooperating’ with investigators.

Rivas was officially identified a week later. Investigators revealed the runaway teen’s remains, which were found one day after what would’ve been her 15th birthday, were severely decomposed and dismembered.

Investigators said she had ‘Shhh…’ tattooed on her right index finger, matching one D4vd has.

The rest of D4vd’s tour was quietly cancelled before he went dark. He has also since retained top Hollywood attorney Blair Berk, who has yet to issue any public statements.

When approached for comment on Wednesday, the LAPD declined to confirm whether D4vd was still cooperating with investigators.

While D4vd’s whereabouts remain unknown, two masked men were captured on Thursday by the Daily Mail photographers standing outside of the $4.1million Hollywood Hills home where he’d been staying before the discovery.

The two imposing figures appeared to be part of a private security detail, standing guard as a removal company hauled boxes and furniture from the home.

A week earlier, the home had been raided by the LAPD’s Homicide Unit, searching for traces of blood and other evidence linked to Rivas’ disappearance.

The department has not shared what they found, but stated multiple items of evidence were recovered for analysis.

The Daily Mail previously revealed that D4vd’s LA crash pad was being leased under the name of his manager, Josh Marshall, to the tune of $20,000 per month.

Marshall abruptly broke the lease last week following the raid, homeowner Mladen Trifunovic told the Daily Mail earlier this week.

Trifunovic said he had no idea the artist was living at the home until last week. He was contacted by Marshall, who said he immediately needed out of their contract because of the ‘ongoing circumstances’ regarding the investigation.

‘They didn’t want to be there anymore,’ Trifunovic said, adding he’d been left shaken by the news of the raid and the role his home may play in Rivas’ death.

No arrests have been made, and no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly named.

Approached for comment on Thursday night, the LAPD responded simply: ‘No updates.’

Sources close to the investigation told Good Morning America on Friday that they are awaiting final results from an autopsy on Rivas’ remains, but the probe could drag on for weeks or even months.

Investigators made the grisly discovery after they were called to a Hollywood tow yard to investigate a foul stench coming from the front trunk of D4vd’s impounded Tesla Model Y

The remains were found after officers were called to a Hollywood tow yard to investigate a foul stench coming from the front trunk of a black Tesla Model Y, registered to D4vd. The car had been impounded two days earlier.

Inside, the remains were wrapped in plastic.

The car was found a few blocks from the rental home that was then raided.

It’s unclear when or how Rivas died, but police said the advanced state of decomposition indicated she’d been dead for some time and hadn’t lived to see her 15th birthday.

One of the Daily Mail’s sources said the teenager kept in contact with friends via text and phone calls for more than a year after she was reported missing. Then, all contact apparently abruptly stopped sometime in late July or early August.

Neama Rahmani, a former Department of Justice prosecutor, told the Daily Mail the case against D4vd is ‘staggering’ and he is shocked an arrest hasn’t already been made.

‘Whenever they find a body in your car, that’s not good. And when it’s been dismembered, it’s even worse – and that’s without considering everything else we’ve heard in this case,’ he said Wednesday.

‘So it’s shocking to me that nobody has been arrested – but I expect that to change within days. It’s just a matter of time.’
