Three members of a family who appeared in the TLC show Meet the Putmans have died following a tragic car accident.

“‘Papa’ Bill Putman, Neenee, and Aunt Megan … have gone home to be with the Lord,” the Putman family shared on Instagram on September 27.
Several other family members, including Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia, were injured and remain in the hospital, remain hospitalized.
“We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them,” the statement read.
The family added that they were leaning on their faith as they processed the “deep loss.”
“Even in this time of heartbreak, we rest in knowing that God is in control,” the post read.
“Even in this valley, we will praise Him,” the note continued. “We trust that His plan is perfect and that one day we will be reunited in Heaven.”
The Putmans did not share details of the crash. But according to a report from ABC12 News, the accident occurred on Friday night in Cass City, Michigan, when a semi truck failed to stop at a stop sign at a rural intersection and hit the family’s Jeep. Bill Putman, his wife Barb Putman, and their daughter-in-law Megan Putman were killed.
Bill and Barb’s son and Megan’s husband Blake Putman sustained serious injuries. Four children also experienced potentially life-threatening injuries. Lulu, Alena, and Noah are the children of Megan and Blake. Gia is the daughter of Blake’s brother Brandon and his wife Kacie.
All surviving crash victims were taken to area hospitals, were some remain in critical condition.
‘Meet the Putmans’ aired in 2017
Meet the Putmans was one of several TLC reality series focused on large families. It aired for six episodes in 2017. It followed Michigan couple Bill and Barb, who lived in a large home with their four children, their in-laws, and grandchildren. Episodes of show are currently available to stream on AppleTV, YouTube, and Spectrum. The family later shared updates on their lives on their Growing Up Putman YouTube channel.
Bill said that he hoped that their TLC show might inspire other families to embrace multi-generational living.
“What you get to see is how you can do it, if you decide you want to do it with your family someday, and you get to see probably one of the funniest shows on TV that’s real,” he told Mid-Michigan Now in 2017. “This is not scripted, we’re doing this like in real time, real life.”
Living with dozens of family members all under one roof could be a little hectic, Bill admitted. But that wasn’t a bad thing.
“It’s like loving chaos,” he said. “It’s like Christmas every morning, and Thanksgiving every evening.”
