Fans of Bad Bunny took to social media Sunday to celebrate the announcement that the musical artist would be this year‘s Super Bowl halftime show headliner.
On X, a number of fans commended the NFL for picking the 31-year-old entertainer, who specializes in Latin trap and reggaeton music to perform February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Grammy-winning artist had plenty of fan support after he was announced as the showcase artist of the final game of the NFL playoffs.
One fan said Bad Bunny ‘won so bad’ in getting the coveted spot, accompanied by a shot of the Voy a Llevarte Pa PR’ artist.
Another shared a meme of Owen Wilson opening a bottle of Champagne from the film Wedding Crashers with the post captioned, ‘Hispanic community right now.’
A number of commenters on X praised the league for choosing the artist amid his bold stance to not tour the U.S. amid an increased focus on ICE under President Donald Trump.

A number of fans expressed their high hopes for what they expect to be a better performance from the musical artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.
‘The most streamed artist worldwide from 2020-22,’ said one fan. ‘Will be interesting to see the blowback on this one.’
Another declared: ‘Bad Bunny brings that global energy to the biggest stage in sports.
The user noted that ‘February can’t come fast enough.’
A user pointed to the artist’s past work in the squared circle with WWE: ‘It doesn’t matter if you like Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime act.

In a statement, Bad Bunny said that what he was feeling went well ‘beyond’ himself.
‘It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history,’ the Almirante Sur, Puerto Rico native said.
He added: ‘Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el [Go tell your grandma we’re going to be the] HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

They include the late Michael Jackson and Prince; as well as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Usher, Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre.
