Lauren Graham and Taylor Swift will forever be linked to ‘Mean Girls’ day after Friday. Graham is receiving a star on the Walk of Fame on the same day Swift is releasing her newest album.
As it turns out, Taylor Swift and Lauren Graham will both have something in common with Mean Girls by this time Friday. October 3rd, as fans know, is Mean Girls day. This year, it will also be the day Taylor Swift drops her new album and the day Lauren Graham is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. While we don’t know how the two starlets feel about the classic movie, we do know that October 3 is turning out to be very auspicious this year.
Lauren Graham to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Lauren Graham never received an Emmy for her work on Gilmore Girls, but the role helped to propel her to this moment. On October 3, the beloved actor will be honored by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The dedication ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. in front of the W Hollywood Hotel. Amy Sherman-Palladino is expected to attend. It is unclear whether other Gilmore Girls cast members will be in attendance.
According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Graham joins a distinguished class of honorees. Bill Nye, Sheri Shepherd, Fran Drescher, and several others will also be honored this year. Graham’s star will be the 2,823rd star dedicated in the television category. Believe it or not, she is only the second member of the Gilmore Girls cast to receive a dedication. Milo Ventimiglia received his star in 2022.
‘Gilmore Girls’ fans who also love Taylor Swift will be having a big day
Lauren Graham’s star dedication ceremony isn’t the only big event happening on October 3 this year. It also happens to be the release date of Taylor Swift’s album. Swift announced that she’d be releasing a new album titled The Life of Showgirl during her appearance on the New Heights podcast back in August. It will be her 12th studio album.
The album was conceptualized and recorded during Swift’s iconic Eras Tour. In keeping with the performance theme, the release of The Life of a Showgirl will also feature a special cinematic event. The event, titledTaylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, has a runtime of 89 minutes. It will include the world premiere of a music video. Swift’s personal insights into the album are also featured. The experience opens on October 3 and will only be available until October 5. AMC has provided an official list of rules for the special event. The official album will be released at midnight on October 3.
