Joleon Lescott has taken up a post-playing career as a DJ, and it seems he has the full support of one of his former teammates: Micah Richards.

Lescott, whose father was also a DJ, fulfilled a lifelong dream by performing a set at Reading Festival on the Jägermeister Stage, spinning a high-energy collection of dance anthems for a massive crowd.

But front and centre of the audience wasn’t just any fan – it was Richards, making sure he didn’t miss a beat.

Richards, who spent five seasons with Lescott at Manchester City and helped the club secure two Premier League titles, was captured in footage dancing along, holding a bottle of Jägermeister, and joining in with fans – including one wearing a City shirt — much to Lescott’s amusement.

A separate video reposted on Instagram by Richards showed him taking to the microphone as Lescott’s MC, leading the crowd in chants between songs and hyping the audience.

Having made over 100 appearances together for club and country, it’s clear that Lescott and Richards’ friendship has seamlessly transitioned far beyond the pitch – Lescott commanding the decks, and Richards helping bring the party to life in front of him.
