Trump vows Border Patrol agents will take ‘no nonsense’ as feds march into downtown Chicago

Federal agents clad in full tactical gear took to the streets of downtown Chicago as part of an intensified immigration operation, with President Trump asserting, “Border Patrol will take no nonsense!”

Numerous federal officers were seen navigating through some of Chicago’s major tourist attractions and shopping areas during the ICE operation that began Sunday afternoon.

The surge targeted “the worst of the worst” illegal immigrants with criminal records, according to Gregory Bovino, a Border Patrol chief.

“We’ve always got a target that’s anyone who is here illegally,” he insisted.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many illegal migrants were nabbed in the Chicago operation.

Trump also posted a video on Truth Social Sunday evening, showing protesters confronting federal agents and reiterating, “Border Patrol will take no nonsense!”

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, both Democrats, blasted the Trump administration’s show of force.

“While Chicagoans and visitors are enjoying another gorgeous Sunday, they are being intimidated by masked federal agents flaunting automatic weapons for no apparent reason,” Johnson said in a statement.

Pritzker, meanwhile, said the officers “appear to be carrying large weapons around downtown Chicago in camouflage and masks.”

“This is not making anybody safer — it’s a show of intimidation, instilling fear in our communities and hurting our businesses,” the governor complained.

The Chicago operation comes just weeks after Trump started threatening to send the National Guard to flood the city.

The scenes in Chicago unfolded after the feds started arriving in Portland, Ore., over the weekend after Trump ordered military deployment there, too.

Clashes erupted outside an ICE facility as Trump confirmed he’d authorized “full force” to protect a “war ravaged Portland” and federal buildings “under siege by ANTIFA, and other domestic terrorists.”
