A bet’s a bet!

On Monday, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos made good on a wager they had on Live with Kelly and Mark regarding Sunday’s (Sept. 28) game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Eagles emerged victorious with a score of 31-25.

During the opening of today’s Live episode, members of the Eagles cheerleading team created a spirit tunnel. Meanwhile, Live announcer Deja Vu proclaimed “the winner of the spectacular football weekend bet.”

“Philly Eagles fan Kelly Ripa, and her non-winning co-host, Mark Consuelos!” Deja exclaimed.

With pom poms in hand, Ripa beamed as she made her way onto the set, while Consuelos politely applauded.

Swoop, the Eagles’ mascot, was also on hand to celebrate their win against Consuelos’ beloved Bucs, and gifted a Consuelos a stuffed animal Swoop.

After dancing her way into her seat, Ripa introduced the cheerleaders and Swoop to the audience, as Consuelos acknowledged that “a bet’s a bet.”

“You know what’s weird?” Ripa asked. “It’s that Mark still somehow seems to be winning.”

Consuelos conceded with a laugh, “I did. It was a win-win for me.”

Ripa added, “It was great. Great bet.”

Consuelos praised the Eagles, acknowledging their undefeated status this season and commending them as a “great team” for playing an “exciting game” against the Buccaneers. Despite their team’s loss, Consuelos expressed optimism that his and Ripa’s favorite teams might meet again later in the season.

“The Eagles came out really, really fast, and I think at halftime, the score was 21-6,” he said. “And then the Bucs came back. The Bucs came back! Go Bucs! I saw a lot of good things, still. So here’s the thing. I see us potentially in the NFC championship game, and that’s when it’s going to be a big bet between you and me.”

Ripa teased, “That’s when you’re going to have to wear one of the costumes from the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders.”

Consuelos countered, “Or you will be one of the [Tampa Bay] Swashbucklers.”

“No, I have a feeling you’re going to be wearing one of those costumes!” Ripa insisted, as she and Consuelos looked toward the cheerleaders. “Ladies, it is such a thrill to have you here. A real thrill. And Swoop!”
