Travis Kelce and Andy Reid are going to be just fine.
Kelce, 35, and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Reid, 67, were spotted hugging it out during a postgame press conference following the team’s 37-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens, Sunday, September 28.
The sweet moment comes after weeks of discord between the pair and frustration about the team’s performance from Kelce in general. The Chiefs have experienced the worst start to a season for the franchise since 2014 this year, but Sunday’s win helped turn things around for the team.
Fox4 News Kansas City anchor and Avila University adjunct professor Harold R. Kuntz shared a still from the game broadcast that showed a beaming Kelce via X and captioned it, “Visual proof Travis Kelce does smile around Andy Reid.”
Kelce may have also had another reason to smile during Sunday’s game: his fiancée, Taylor Swift, was in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium to see the Chiefs win. Swift, 35, showed up at the game one day after attending Selena Gomez’s wedding on Saturday, September 27.
The singer has kept a relatively low profile at Chiefs games so far this season. On September 14 she appeared to enter the stadium in Kansas City behind a moving wall. Though she wasn’t spotted by fans, she and Kelce were both on hand that evening to celebrate the 30th birthday of his teammate Patrick Mahomes.
Kelce opened up about his recent heated exchanges with Reid in an interview with the Kansas City Star in an interview published Friday, September 26. “I love that guy, man,” he told the outlet. “There’s nothing outside of this building that’s going to make me feel any different way. We know exactly each other’s intentions.”
“I think what Coach Reid does best is he challenges guys to be at their best, and I love that about him,” he continued. “It definitely helped me take my game to another level that game.”

Kelce was spotted getting in Reid’s face during the team’s September 21 game against the New York Giants — a game that also happened to be the Chiefs’ first win of the season.
Reid addressed clips from the viral moment on September 22. “The question came up yesterday about Travis and the intensity and all that,” Reid said. “‘Is he frustrated or not frustrated?’ Well, he’s seen how the offense works. So when things aren’t going the right way, he’s very aware of that. He’s a pretty smart guy, and he’s been doing it longer than anybody else on this team has been doing it.”
Reid added: “He wants to make sure that he gets that point across to the guys, and so he does that. I’m OK with that part.”
The coach added that Kelce is fully aware of the team’s potential, which sometimes contributes to his outbursts. “He knows also, like the coaches know, where we can go with this, too, and the growth we can have here,” Reid said. “We need to take care of business in that area.”
Mahomes, 30, also seemed unbothered by all the attention Kelce’s behavior has received. “He’s a guy that loves it,” Mahomes said of Kelce following the September 21 game. “That’s what’s made him so great. I know they love each other. That’s what you want out of the greats.”
