Nicole Kidman attended a Clé de Peau Beauté event solo just days before news broke of her and Keith Urban’s separation after 19 years of marriage.
The actress, 58, attended the beauty brand’s gala at The Academy Museum in Los Angeles on Sept. 25 and stunned in a draped, corseted, black dress by Vivienne Westwood.
She paired the satin number with a whopping $47,000 worth of jewelry by Logan Hollowell, per Women’s Wear Daily.
The following day, Kidman spoke to Forbes about her new role as a global brand ambassador for the luxury skincare and cosmetics line that was announced in July and shared the “resilience” that she has developed over the years.
“I think having a career that has lasted this long is what has taught me about resilience,” she told the outlet.
“I’ve been told ‘no’ so many times in my career. It’s very much about being brave, trying things, being willing to be criticized and being willing to not be stopped by that criticism.”
Kidman made it clear that she does not take rejection personally and is “grateful” for it.
“Statistically, anything that hasn’t worked out for me has actually led me to something else that I’m far more grateful I got to experience,” she explained.
“That is also [a part of] resilience. It’s not setting your sights on what you think you’re meant to have; it’s being willing to explore and [staying] open—particularly as you get older.”
Her and Urban’s last public outing together was in June, three months before the separation news. The two were pictured on June 20 in Nashville, Tenn., watching the World Club Cup group D match between US side Los Angeles FC and Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Tunis at the Geodis Park Stadium.
Page Six confirmed on Monday that Kidman and Urban, 57, split after 19 years of marriage with a source telling us, “Sometimes relationships just run their course.”
The insider added that the “Big Little Lies” star “did not want the separation and was trying to save things.”
The producer and country music singer have been living apart “since the beginning of summer,” multiple sources told TMZ, which was first to break the news.
The couple share two children, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, whom Kidman has been caring for according to the outlet.
“[Kidman is] holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone,” a source said, referring to his current “High and Alive World Tour,” which began in May and concludes in October.
The Grammy winner has allegedly moved out of their family home in Nashville and purchased his own property in the same city.
Reps for the couple were not immediately available to Page Six’s request for comment.
The estranged couple have been married since June 25, 2006.
Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001 and share two kids: Bella, 32, and Connor, 30.
