What else will Netflix subscribers have to say goodbye to in October? Here’s everything you need to know about what movies and shows are leaving Netflix in October 2025!
Why Does Netflix Remove Movies and Shows?
It’s complicated, but here’s our best shot at explaining why this happens: Netflix has spent tens of billions of dollars since its inception to build up their library of shows and movies that they own either outright or control for a long stretch of time, commonly known as Netflix Originals. Everything else on the service has been licensed from another studio or production company, some of whose business interests align with Netflix, and some of whose compete directly with Netflix. As the tectonic plates of the streaming industry continue to shift, Netflix is either gaining or losing the rights to house these movies and shows on their service. Once a month, Netflix sends out a list of everything that is going to expire from their service so their customers can plan accordingly.

Grown Ups: Leaving Netflix October 1
Adam Sandler’s 2010 comedy boasted a stacked ensemble rounded out by Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and Joyce Van Patten. The film marked another collaboration with director Dennis Dugan, and despite a lack of critical acclaim, Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2—both of which are leaving Netflix—remain fan favorites.

Like Grown Ups, both Wayne’s World and its sequel, Wayne’s World 2, are bidding farewell to Netflix at the start of the month. The star-studded spectacle is led by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, and also features Rob Lowe, Tia Carrere, Brian-Doyle Murray, and Lara Flynn Boyle.
