SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A 22-year-old alleged Illinois gang member has been captured, according to Springfield FBI agents.

Tuesday morning, FBI Springfield announced that Dontay R Moore Jr. had been captured. They also thanked their local law enforcement partners and community members for providing tips and information that helped with this investigation.

Throughout the month of September, FBI agents in Springfield were posting reminders that they were offering $15,000 in reward money for any information leading to the arrest of Moore.

He is suspected of being a violent, high-ranking enforcer for the “Lundy Mob” — a gang that operates in Southern Illinois. With that, he’s been linked to a number of assaults, weapons trafficking and the distribution of drugs.

Back on May 21, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Moore in the Southern District of Illinois which charged him with unlawful possession of a machine gun. Prior to his arrest, he was considered armed and dangerous.

WCIA reached out to FBI Springfield for more information on the arrest but did not receive an immediate response.
