Megyn Kelly tipped for breathtaking CBS News comeback

Megyn Kelly has denied having a top secret screen-test at CBS News ahead of a rumored network TV comeback.

Veteran media reporter Bernard Goldberg made the astonishing allegation in a podcast for his Substack platform, No BS Zone.

He suddenly informed co-host John Daly, “By the way, here’s something I’m revealing that nobody knows: a certain person, whose name I’ll disclose shortly – a well-known individual in the media – was at CBS News the other day, supposedly for a screen test.”

‘Meaning, seeing how it works on camera.’

Daly guessed former Fox News star Bill O’Reilly.

But Goldberg – who worked at the Eye Network for twenty-eight years – enlightened him, saying: ‘No, I would’ve guessed that too.

‘No, Megyn Kelly. Megyn Kelly was at CBS News the other day. You heard it here, you’re not going to hear it anyplace else.’

Mediaite then reported on Goldberg’s claims, earning a response from Kelly herself within minutes.

“Not a single aspect of this is true. I was not at CBS, did not partake in a screen test, am not heading to CBS, and have absolutely no intention to leave my current job to join the declining realm of broadcast news,” she stated on X.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Kelly for comment.

A return to network television would mark a triumph for the former legacy media journalist, who recently commemorated five years of her self-titled SiriusXM show on Monday.

She was forced out of NBC News in 2019 over an on-air defense of blackface, after being poached by the Peacock network from Fox News,

She previously hosted a show on the station called The Kelly File. It aired between 2004 and 2017.

Since her exit from NBC – with a rumored $69million payout – Kelly has made a huge success of her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show.

It launched as an audio-only podcast in September 2020. Today, it is a top-rated program on both Apple and Spotify. The show boasts millions more followers on Instagram, TikTok, and X.

Just a few weeks ago, Kelly tapped former top Trump aide Hope Hicks to head operations of the podcasting company she started, Devil May Care Media.

She also rolled out her own morning news show, the ‘AM Update with Megyn Kelly’, this past February.

Earlier this month, she announced her first-ever nationwide tour, ‘Megyn Kelly LIVE’, which kicks off next month. She refused to call it off following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Since going independent, she has become an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump.

She regularly offers conservative friendly takes on thorny culture wars topics.

Like many legacy outlets, CBS News has been met with accusations of bias from both viewers and the administration.

But new owner David Ellison seems to set to redress that balance.

He is said to be on the verge of buying journalist Bari Weiss’s The Free Press news website and installing herself as a senior executive at CBS News.

Weiss spectacularly resigned from The New York Times in 2021 after claiming the paper had become a nest of woke vipers who were skewing its coverage on major issues to the left.

While her views are more centrist than Kelly’s, Weiss has also made a huge success of her independent outlet by unflinchingly tackling topics including DEI and transgenderism.

Developing story, check back for updates.
