MUNCIE, Ind. A wish was granted at a Muncie nursing home last week, bringing some Disney magic to Indiana for one of the home’s residents.

Morrison Woods Nursing Home resident Eva, who lives with Parkinson’s Disease, wished to visit Disney World. While Eva’s medical conditions prevented her from making the trek to Orlando, Florida, Dr. Gregory Taylor’s organization Physicians for Wishes still helped make Eva’s dream come true.

Taylor’s organization brought all the essential Disney World experiences to Morrison Woods Nursing Home in Muncie. Physicians for Wishes set up a pin trading station, Disney merchandise stand, Mickey pretzel station, Mickey waffle station and Dole Whip food truck at Morrison Woods Nursing home on Friday. The stations Physicians for Wishes set up were accessible via a Magic Band entry point.

After setup was complete, Physicians for Wishes brought 15 licensed Disney characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, to the nursing home to meet Eva and her friends, who were wearing matching t-shirts during the event.

“I think the fact that, you know, we associate Disney World, Magic Kingdom, with just magic, and I think bringing something on that level to Muncie, Indiana, is what makes that special,” Taylor said.

Taylor indicated that Friday’s event was not sponsored by Disney. He added that Physicians for Wishes paid for the event itself.
