Sean “Diddy” Combs has been helping his fellow inmates turn their lives around since being detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn in New York, according to one prisoner.

Inmate Ho Wen Kwok, who is also known as Miles Guo, submitted a letter in support of Diddy ahead of his sentencing on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution on Friday, October 3.

In the letter submitted to Judge Arun Subramanian this week, and obtained by Us Weekly, Kwok said Diddy has been instrumental in supporting his fellow prisoners develop life and entrepreneurial skills through a course he has been teaching called “Free Game With Diddy.”

“‘Free Game With Diddy’ is a course where we are taught about life, entrepreneurship, and how he became one of the most successful icon-business moguls in the world starting from nothing,” Kwok wrote. “Where he helps people get his mind right and helps them find [their] light.”

“I have seen him prepare for this class for few months where he would write and read books and take notes so that he can spread his knowledge and thoughts. For him to share the best information he can. For a first time in [MDC] I joined a program,” the inmate continued. “Also, for a first time, I’ve seen a whole unit participate where color or gang didn’t matter … the only thing that mattered was the equal goal of gaining knowledge and wisdom.”

According to Kwok, “After the first class, I can see how he became successful … he is a dedicated, motivated individual when he puts his mind to something. I have met a lot of [celebrities] and I’ve seen that they are not that organized, but for this course, [Diddy] is organized and truly prepared to share his ‘Free Game.’”

In the letter, Kwok described Diddy as a “kind, sensitive, genius person” with whom he has “had multiple conversations” that “have been very peaceful, enlighten [sic] and motivational.”

“We have spoke [sic] about creating programs to take the youth out of the street and help them with music, sports, and just to find [their] light. Where people without the [resources] or the funds or the connection can come to expand [their] minds and resources,” he wrote.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been undergoing therapy while in prison. Diddy, 55, has enrolled in self-improvement programs to address his past drug use and violence against women, according to TMZ. The outlet reported that Diddy, who is being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, is participating in the STOP Program, which helps inmates learn […]

Diddy has been detained at MDC Brooklyn since September 2024 following his arrest on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was convicted on two prostitution-related charges in July following a two-month trial, but cleared of three further trafficking and racketeering charges. (Diddy has maintained his innocence and denied all charges against him.)

Federal prosecutors are seeking a sentence of just over 11 years in prison when Diddy is sentenced on Friday.

“Punishment for his crimes of conviction must take into account the manner in which he committed them,” the prosecutors argued in a memorandum this week. “His crimes of conviction are serious and have warranted sentences over ten years in multiple cases for defendants who, like Sean Combs, engaged in violence and put others in fear.”

Diddy’s lawyers, however, have urged Judge Subramanian to consider a 14-month prison sentence followed by a supervised release with mandatory drug treatment, individual therapy and group therapy.
