Mariah Carey claimed Michael Jackson’s estate is standing in the way of her releasing a secret collaboration song in the vault.
The superstar, 56, opened up about the unreleased track as she dished about previously working with two of the biggest names in pop music history.
While making an appearance on Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen’s show Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday night, Carey said her song with Prince was never finished.
However, she revealed that she has been trying to release her completed track with the late King of Pop but was stopped by an obstacle.
The singer-songwriter has been promoting her 16th studio album, Here For It All, and said that she wanted her song with Jackson to make it on the record for her fans to hear.
In response to a fan’s question about the music she has not released, she explained that Jackson’s estate does not want this song to overshadow an alleged, forthcoming project.

‘There’s an issue with his estate because they’re doing something really huge for him [in the future], and this [song] we didn’t know would kind of usurp that situation.’
Carey said that she ‘loves’ the song and was disappointed that she could not include it onto her new album, which she dropped on September 26.
‘I’m so upset it’s not coming out on this album. It should be on there. Every time I would play it for somebody, they would [say], “Wow.”‘
She said on the show that she hoped one day his estate would approve the release of the song she worked on with her friend.
During the same interview with Cohen, Carey also addressed her viral ‘I don’t know her’ phrase and rumored feud with Jennifer Lopez.
Carey coined the seemingly dismissive phrase in 2003 when she was asked her thoughts about Lopez, 56.
Smiling, she simply replied, ‘I don’t know her.’
On Wednesday, she reiterated the sentiment, after Cohen asked, ‘Can you believe how much “I don’t know her” has become part of the lexicon?’

‘The thing is, I was being honest when I said it, so I don’t know how it became so big. Honest isn’t really something that becomes big most of the time,’ she said.
Cohen then cheekily followed up, asking, ‘To clarify, you still do not know her right?’ ‘How can I suddenly know… like, you know?’
Carey replied, flashing a knowing smile as Cohen laughed.
‘The amount of time we have spent in these chairs discussing whether you know her is amazing,’ the host quipped.
She previously shared a similar sentiment while appearing on WWHL with Cohen in 2016.
When he pressed her asking, ‘Do you know each other!?’ she said, ‘No!’ before adding, ‘You know what? I’m very forgetful. Apparently, I’m forgetful. Because I don’t remember the fact that it was like “Hi, I’m so and so” and then we moved on.’
‘If I have never had a conversation about you and someone asks me, I would be like “I don’t know them but they seem cool” or “I don’t know them.”‘
Cohen then asked, ‘Does she seem cool?,’ to which Carey replied, ‘I don’t know her. Like what am I supposed to say?’
