Erwin PD: Man allegedly sexually assaulted minor

ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Erwin Police Department arrested a man Thursday morning on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a minor.

According to a news release from the police department, Jeremy Jones, 38, was arrested around 8:30 a.m. when officers executed an arrest warrant.

A grand jury indicted Jones on the three counts after an Erwin Police Department investigation that began earlier in 2025.

Police report the investigation began after reports that Jones had sexually assaulted a child under the age of eight years old.

The Erwin Police Department SWAT Team and deputies with the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody in Erwin.
