Brittany Renner is asking a judge to raise NBA star P.J. Washington’s child support payments, claiming the current $5,500 a month is no longer enough to care for their 4-year-old son.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Renner filed a request this week seeking at least $35,000 per month from the Dallas Mavericks forward.

In the filing, Renner explained that when the original agreement was set, she and Washington were living together in North Carolina. Since moving to California with her son late last year, she says the financial reality has shifted dramatically.

“I cannot afford the high cost of living given the current child support orders,” she wrote, adding that Washington uses “less than 1/2 of the visitation time he is entitled to,” leaving her “struggling to make ends meet”.

“I cannot provide [our son] a life anywhere similar to that of his father,” Renner stated.

Renner highlighted Washington’s recent four-year, $90 million contract extension with the Mavericks, and described the difference between their living situations.

She claimed the 26-year-old athlete and his wife often share glimpses of their life on social media, including luxury vacations, multiple high-end cars, and their children in designer clothing.

“In contrast,” Renner wrote, “I live in a humble Airbnb rental in West Hills and shop for [our son’s] clothes at Target.”

Along with the monthly increase, Renner is also seeking $50,000 in attorney’s fees.

A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for November.
