Police: Nearly 3 pounds of meth, firearms seized from Scott Co. home

SCOTT COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — Law enforcement officers in Scott County, Virginia seized nearly three pounds of methamphetamine and over $13,000 on Tuesday while taking a man into custody who was wanted on federal charges in Tennessee.

A release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office said one of its Drug Task Force officers assisted United States Marshals while they were working to apprehend Steven Ray Eisenmenger.

According to the release, information that U.S. Marshals received led the search to the Stanleytown community of Scott County. While at the residence Eisenmenger was located at, officers found evidence of drugs, and a search warrant was obtained for the home.

“As a result of the search warrant, 2.8 pounds of methamphetamine, $13,298.00 in US currency and multiple guns were seized,” the release states. “Additionally, other narcotics, several scales, baggies commonly used for distributing illegal drugs, as well as various other items of drug paraphernalia were also seized.”

Eisenmenger was taken to the Duffield Regional Jail and was being held without bond on numerous charges related to the firearms and drugs seized.

Scott County Sheriff Jeff Edds thanked the following agencies for their help on the case:

United States Marshals Service Greenville Office, Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force with members from the Washington County TN Sheriff’s Office, Carter County Sheriff’s Office, Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office, Church Hill Police Department, United States Forest Service, Duffield Rescue and the Southwest Virginia Regional Drug Task Force.
