The Democrats appear to have miscalculated on triggering a government shutdown by a vast measure, which we started to see in motion mere hours after the Schumer Shutdown began on Oct. 1.
RedState wrote about the imminent federal government firings and layoffs:
According to Politico, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russ Vought revealed in a private call Wednesday that mass firings and/or layoffs in the federal workforce would begin over the next day or two, meaning pink slips could be flying by the end of the week. Votes have consequences, as it turns out.
OMB chief Russ Vought told House Republicans on a private call Wednesday that the administration will start mass reduction in force moves, or firings, of federal workers “in a day or two,” according to four people granted anonymity to describe the call.
Then as my colleague Ward Clark wrote earlier on Thursday, President Trump signaled in a Truth Social post he was eager to sit down with OMB head Vought in the afternoon, to dig into what extraneous government spending might get cut–especially anything prized by the Democrats.
